Hatesphere - To The Nines
The Danish demolition commando returns with a vengeance and more brutal than ever before. To The Nines pushes the pedal to the metal more than usually without forgetting Hatesphere's biggest strengths: Highspeed riffs, excellent leads, furious solos and racing precision drumming. At least that’s what the bio tells us and I have to say I’m very curious about it. Especially since guitar player Pepe is the only original band member left.
So with a little scepticism I put this album in my cd player and during the first tones I was completely stunned. How is this possible? When I listened to the following songs my jaw literally hit the floor. The entire band is gone but still Hatesphere manage to create a great album. Of course the magic touch of Tue Madsen didn’t turn out bad for the album, but still it’s an album that gives you a great kick in the ass,
One of the things I was really curious about was the new vocalist. Especially since Jacob Bredahl did have quite a sound of his own. After several turns I can say that the new guy, Jonathan ‘Joller’ Albrechtsen, makes me forget about the previous guy (Jacob Who). The vocals are probably not as typical but they are way more brutal, which fits the brutal sound of the album.
Isn’t there anything bad about the album? Of course there is, it only lasts for little over thirty minutes. Okay I do have to admit that it isn’t maybe the most innovative album, but overall it’s a really brutal album that gave me a much appreciated kick in the ass. It’s pretty obvious that I’m not going to spend an entire page on this review because that will only take more time away from moshing to this killer album.
